Happy Valentines Day...

My Valentines. Gotta love the kids expressions..."um mom can we be done now"

This morning I woke up to the sweetest homemade cards from Aniela and Charlie. Then it was the usual morning hussle and bussle. Get Charles and myself dressed, Aniela ready for school, Charlie ready for work, some sort of breakfast in our bellies and then out the door by 8:15. I don't know how I'm going to do it next year when Aniela gets picked up by the bus for kindergarten a whole hour earlier. Although it'll be just her heading out the door that early so I guess that makes up for it. Regardless I'm sure I will be the mom in her pajamas, disheveled hair, and baggy eyes waiting at the corner with her!

Then at school Aniela had her valentines day party today. I helped host it so had a chance to see her and her classmates interact. It was so much fun but I feel like it's Halloween all over again with all the candy in the house! It was also "crazy dress" day at school so Aniela had a blast picking out her outfit and putting her hair in 10 pigtails...man that girl has a head of hair.

Aniela's crazy outfit and hair. Personally I think kids should be able to dress like this everyday!

In the evening we had a simple family dinner which the kids devoured in anticipation for more Valentines treats. We got them chocolate marshmallow hearts. The kids devoured those even faster. Charlie himself couldn't resist the goodness of one of his favorite treats and just had to break his diet and split one with me. It of course was so hard for me to help him out with that ;-) With all the sugar consumed the kids ended the day doing sprint races down the upstairs hallway...that did the trick and they were ready for bed in no time!
