Survivormen...

Last weekend Charlie went on a team-building adventure with the local Global Mining Department. The guys headed a few hours west of Edmonton to Cadomin. A site previously visited by Charlies boss. Once to the staging area the men parked their vehicles, loaded up the quads and offroaded 3 hour to the campsite. Charlie said the scenery was beautiful and the quading on the way up was great.

Heading up to the camp site

At camp they set up tents, explored the gorgeous area, and enjoyed the night sitting around the campfire cooking and drinking. Drinking being of utmost improtance of course since it was cold and wet out! By this time Charlie said the snow was coming down pretty good but nobody thought anything of it as their wasn't that much coverage on the ground when everyone called it a night.

Setting up camp...looks fun huh?

Well the next morning, to everyones surprise, there was a foot and a half of snow! It was like a winter wonderland. Luckily they were able to find the trail out and their quads pushed through the snow. What started out as a simple quading trip turned into quite the adventure. I think the guys were happy to get home, warm up, and get a good nights sleep. Of course Charlie being the Eagle Scout loved every minute of it.

Charlies tent and Quad the next morning...

And while the guys were out in the cold Aniela, Charles and I had a great time visiting with Chelsea, Wyatt and Hadley. I hadn't met the newest member of their family and forgot how tiny infants are. Charles was oblivious to Hadley and really just wanted to grab and pull at her. Aniela on the other hand was like a little mommy. Helping push the swing or bouncy chair, making sure her pacifier was in, and letting me know if Charles was going in for a grab! We also enjoyed the weekend meeting up with some of the other Caterpillar wives and their kids. We took the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese on Friday night. It was a first for Aniela and to no surprise a hit. Come on what kid wouldn't like brightly lit seizure-causing rides, games, an indoor playground and pizza for supper. It was like a drug...she couldn't get enough! And of course no trip to Edmonton is complete without shopping. This trip we concentrated on snow and ski gear. Come on winter...we're ready for ya!

Charles loved Finley
Wyatt and Aniela getting free rides off some other kids tokens!

Charles wanted in on the action and I eventually pried Aniela off this virtual ride

Wow! What a movie! I was almost tempted to get a large Diet pop and an extra-large buttered popcorn.

You gotta get little Charles a dog.
