Aniela Starts 1st Grade...

Aniela started first grade today at Hickory Grove Elementary School. Our neighborhood was redistricted to attend the brand new school that was built due to the tremendous growth of the Dunlap area. There are just over 600 students in the K-5th grade classes. With 4 separate classrooms for each grade. It's huge! Yesterday was the ribbon cutting ceremony and open house. We were able to tour the school, see Aniela's classroom, and meet the teacher. It truly is an amazing facility that has all the bells and whistles. Charles was even able to see his speech teacher. We were happy she was transferred from our old school, Wilder-Waite, so Charles could keep seeing the same therapist.

They just barely completed the school...with just a few landscaping projects left to complete

Aniela and her good friend, Kelsey. So excited they are in the same class. With so many 1st grade classrooms the odds were against them!

Then this morning Aniela woke up to her alarm clock at 6:40 and did her usual morning routine that we have been practicing. With the laid back summer, it was back-to-school boot camp for the past week. We eventually made our way down for some breakfast and Daddy even called from Alaska to talk to his baby girl before school (yes he is back there again)!

And she's off to school!

The biggest adjustment for me will be having Aniela gone all day. I have been with her since the moment she entered the world and will miss her. She is ready though and we just know she will do amazing. Plus I have the other 2 rug rats to keep me plenty busy. So let the school festivities begin!

It is hard to believe Aniela is already in 1st Grade! She growing up so fast. She will be grown-up and getting married before you know it! Then again, only 16 more years to go if she stops with her bachelor's degree!!!! HA.
