Aniela has been talking about going camping ever since Charlie's overnight camp outing a month ago. So last night she got her wish...she camped out with daddy in the basement. They set up the tent, got their sleeping bags, flashlights, books and were gone for the rest of the night. While Aniela and Charlie had a chance to have some bonding time, I curled up on the couch watching Grey's Anatomy....a nice break and great night for all!
This morning I woke up at 6:30 expecting the two of them to come barreling into the room but that never happened. In fact I finally got out of bed at 7:45 to start a pancake breakfast and the "campers" were still in the basement. At 8:30 they finally emerged and Charlie said it went really well. Aniela told me all about her night with daddy over breakfast. Maybe next year we'll attempt an actual outdoor camp outing!

That sounds like the best kind of camping to me - indoor plumbing and meals that don't come from a plastic bag!
