Nothing like the good old days!!!

We had a great weekend with our friends Dayven, Chelsea, and their baby boy Wyatt who flew in from Tennessee (pictured to the left). We met through the Caterpillar network and Chelsea is the one who inspired me to start this blog site. Now I'm hooked!! We had so much fun catching up on old times and reminiscing on the the days before we were even married...now we both have kids!!! And though we live so far apart it feels like just yesterday that we saw each other. Other than a day of overcast skies and high winds the weather was beautiful as always. The pool was cooler than usual but it didn't stop us from getting in. On Saturday we also went to the zoo. It was a gorgeous morning and the babies were angels..sitting in there strollers without even one peep!! As we adults ooh'd and ahh'd over the animals, Wyatt and Aniela were entertained by the surrounding and all the people passing by. We probably could have gone to the mall and they would have been just as entertained!!!

Another highlight of the weekend was Anielas 1 year celebration. Since Charlie will be on the road this week we decided to celebrate a little early. She was hesitant on what to think of the large cake in front of her and preferred sticking her whole hand in the icing rather than eating it. I don't think she even realized it was something she was supposed to eat. After the pictures, we took a smaller piece of cake and placed it in front of her. She took a few bites and wanted no more to do with it. I thought for sure being Charlies daughter she would dive into the cake once she got a taste of all the sugary goodness. But as I hear with most 1 year olds...the first cake experience is not all that exciting. Afterwards we opened gifts from family and friends. The celebrations continue tomorrow on her actual birthday when her CAT friends are coming over for a playgroup celebration!
