Hawkeye Award...

Charles brought home the Hawkeye Award from school today!  Every week the school recognizes kids that go above and beyond. It can be for academics or behavior.  Charles received his for being an outstanding citizen. He received it because during indoor recess he chose to pick up the classroom instead of play which warranted him a purple behavior card (the top one you can receive). When you get a purple you get to pick a piece of candy out as a reward. Getting a purple is not enough to warrant a Hawkeye award but Charles next actions were enough to receive recognition. Charles proceeded to ask Mrs. Solorio if he could give his treat to Isaiah because Isaiah also helped and he thought he deserved something as well. Mrs. Solorio felt that the choice to take free time to help pick up the whole classroom as well as give up his candy to a fellow classmate was something that you don't always see.

We couldn't be more prouder of our little guy. He really is a sweet, compassionate boy who tries to include everyone. Keep it up Charles!
