Labor Day Weekend....

Relaxing around the campfire
Our usual Labor day weekend camp out was once again cancelled. We weren't surprised...the weather never cooperates on that weekend. It would have been doable but with higher temps and chances of storms every day we just didn't want to risk it. Especially since there were going to be a lot of little ones as well as dogs this time around. We didn't let that get us down and still had an amazing time. On Saturday we opted for a day trip out to Deer Run. We loaded up the four wheelers, coolers, and food and had a great time just hanging out. The kids rode the the little quad, played in the woods, caught loads of frogs and bugs and had fun taking turns going for rides on the big four wheeler. Then while the Grandparents watched the kids we took my sister and her husband to the field for their first experience shooting clay pigeons.  Charlie is a pro at making sure they are comfortable and safe at shooting and after a little demonstration they were giving it a go. I really enjoy shooting clay pigeons and would love to take it up as a hobby sometime in the future!

Of course a day out at the land isn't complete without stuffing ourselves silly. We had the best burgers for dinner and of course campfire smore's  to end the night. By the end the kids were sufficiently filthy, we all smelled of camp fire and there wasn't one kid awake by the time we got home.

Time for some marshmallows

Then on Sunday we all went to the Ivy club for a swim to beat the heat. It was a beautiful day and with cousins and grandparents along the kids had a blast at the pool. It was a great way to spend the weekend!

Great family fun.....burgers, marshmellows, getting very dirty followed by "sharks and minnows" at the Ivy Club! Lots to be thankful for this summer!

Love,
