Aniela Starts Second Grade (and our actual anniversary)...

It was the first day of school today and we now have a second grader! Last night Aniela was a little nervous, fearful that someone would laugh at her if she acted a certain way. This tugged at my heart because as much as I want to protect her I know once she leaves on that school bus she's on her own. And although she is an extremely outgoing, friendly and fun little girl she is also sensitive, just like her mama! But she had a great first day and loved seeing many of her classmates and friends. She said her teacher, Miss Conte, was really nice. Aniela even survived the day without her good friends Kelsey and Brynn, who all had the luck of being in the same class last year. I told her it was good to meet new friends and that they would still be together on the bus, at lunch and during recess. Of course with school comes earlier mornings, a new routine, and school work. Lets face it, homework for the kids also means homework for the parents! Bring it on....

Today is also our  actual 10 Year Wedding Anniversary. We already had an amazing time in Turks and Caicos back in June celebrating our 10 years but, thanks to my mom and dad who took the kids for the night, we enjoyed a nice evening dining at Jonah's Oyster Bar followed by dessert at Culver's.  We are so spoiled and loved having a quiet night celebrating and then being able to sleep in. Happy Anniversary Charlie!
