....SING!
Aniela had her Christmas Concert at school last week. She did so well and was front row and center. Babcia and Dziadziu were able to come and watch her performance.
...BAKE!
There's been lots of baking going on in our house and Aniela loves to help.
...SEE SANTA!
We visited Santa this weekend with Granny. Her neighborhood hosts breakfast with Santa and this year it was at the Fire Station! Aniela wasn't scared at all, although she was a little skeptical if the guy was the real thing. Charles just stared and wasn't sure what to think of the bearded man in red. It was a fun Saturday morning and a good opportunity to get pictures taken with Santa.
Afterwards the kids went back to tell Grandpa all about Santa. Charles passed out from all the excitement of the morning! Note the sucker in hand...he held on to it the whole time.
...SEW!
Charlies mom had a Singer sewing machine from back in the day. It had been sitting in her basement unused for years so we brought it up, dusted it off, plugged it in, got out the manual to learn how to thread it and started it up...works like a champ. Now it's in our basement! Charlie couldn't wait to try some things on it. Yes you read that right. My husband is all about learning the skillful trade of sewing. And believe me when he gets something set in his mind he will do it. Now that's a real man if you ask me! He is already scheming about all the hunting gear he could sew himself..tactical vests, a new hat. I never have had an interest in sewing but always wished I knew the basics so I could hem curtains or make a few pillows here and there. To say the least we have been having fun these past few days teaching ourselves how to use this thing. I have a new found respect for all of you who sew! It took me an hour just to do a straight hem on a skirt for Anielas refurbished toy high-chair. The back pillow cushion was also a little challenging. Who thought sewing a simple square could be so difficult. In the end though it was worth it because now Aniela has the cutest high chair for her dolls. Stay tuned for more sewing projects. I know I can't wait to see what Charlie creates!
Charlie is a pro at threading the sewing machine and even taught me
Starting to practice his hat making skills on some scrap fabric. This is the top half to a hunting hat Charlie plans to make. He amazes me.
Practicing some more skills. Charlie was even able to do a circle to make a wine tote.
Now it's my turn...see the concentration!
We've inherited some neat things from Granny and Grandpa since moving back. Heres the high-chair I mentioned earlier. Just needed a little clean up and new cushions....the sewing machine came in handy!
Before...
After... not bad for my first sewing project!

That is a pretty awesome sewing machine. It looks exactly like the one that my mom has in her basement and the one that I learned on!
Such talent!!! Grandpa just wants to know when he is going to get some of the cookies!
Granny and Grandpa
Wow! Charlie you never cease to amaze me! That story about the chain saw was scary and funny. The sewing is just going to be interesting and creative. It must be such great fun with Christmas and those two amazing children. Wish we were there. Off to Mexico tomorrow. Have a very Merry Christmas. Hugs Jackie and Al
