Christmas 2010

Continuing a favorite Canadian tradition

We had a fantastic Christmas this year. The icing on the cake was all the snow we received on Christmas Eve...I loved it. It was amazing being back with all the family to celebrate. On Christmas eve we went to my parents house for a traditional Polish dinner. Just having everyone under the same roof with all 7 grandchildren running around was such a gift.

The cousins love to dance together

On Christmas morning we woke up in our new home to filled stockings and presents under the tree. Aniela loved seeing that Santa ate all his cookies and Rudolph enjoyed his carrot..he even left a note reminding the kids to always be good! It is amazing experiencing Christmas morning through the kids. This year was especially fun because Charles is older and jumped right into passing out and opening the gifts.

Aniela with her three wishes from Santa: Baby All Gone, Squinkees, and a Tinker Bell doll

Santa had to guess what Charles wanted but there were no complaints from this little boy

The Aftermath...

After playing all morning we got spiffied up and headed over to Charlie's family for the rest of the day. There we stuffed ourselves with ham, cheesy potatoes, and shrimp. And of course there were more presents to open. It was such a fun day. I think Aniela said it best when she woke up Sunday morning and said, "Mommy I never want Christmas to end." Who does, it's such a magical time of the year.

Then on Sunday we took advantage of all the snow we got and did some sledding out on our land. Not just any old sledding though. Charlie thought the kids would love being pulled behind the quad. And he was right...well almost. Charles wasn't to keen on it but loved helping daddy steer the Four wheeler while Aniela and our nephew Tomasz enjoyed the ride. My dad came out too and we all enjoyed a nice bon-fire in the winter....there's nothing like it!

Looks like you guys had a wonderful Christmas. Isn't it great being with family over the holiday? I'll bet it was nice to spend time with them and also have your own traditions at home too. The perfect mix!
