Let's go fly a kite...

We have been taking it easy these last few weeks. Enjoying the outdoors, spending lazy afternoons hanging out at home, and just recently Aniela has discovered the joys of flying a kite. For that matter we all have. There is something about flying a  kite with your 3 year old that takes you back to childhood. Fort McMurray can get some pretty windy days so when Charlie was grilling dinner on the deck yesterday and mentioned how windy it was I thought we should get the kites out! Aniela was so excited and she did very well. The wind was pretty strong so it didn't take much to get them up...we just had to be careful not to let go of them. Aniela was so cute and thought the kite might pick her up and fly her away. Charlie was having a blast playing "kite wars" with Aniela. Much to his surprise it was Aniela at the end who knocked daddy's kite down!

Another person in this house who is up and going is our little man. It seems that overnight Charles went from barely being able to crawl to non-stop go go go. At 8 months he is really starting to move and giving us a run for our money with the outlets, cords, and little things on the floor...dang it I gotta start vacuuming a lot more. Looks like the baby gates need to go up soon!

Come to me darling ... both of them! And their parents too! Soon. We miss you.

Charles, start crawling south. I'll meet you halfway (at the border).

Aniela, fly that kite to granny's house!
