Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! We had an amazing Chrismas Eve and were able to continue some of the Polish traditions I had growing up. We started off dinner with the exchange of oplatki (the sharing of a thin wafer and exchange of blessings), then we had beet soup, and decided this year to start a new tradition of having raclette. The meal was delicious and having raclette was such a treat. Granny and Grandpa brought the cheese all the way from Peoria!
If your curious as to what raclette is just
push on the link. It was such an easy meal especially with having kids around. After dinner we opened gifts from family and ended the night with sugar cookies that we baked and decorated earlier in the day. A special thanks to all our family who couldn't be with us for the gifts..they were all a hit!
This morning we enjoyed lounging around in our p.j.'s, opening Santa's gifts, having cinnamon rolls for breakfast, and of course playing! We celebrated Jesus's birthday with Christmas mass and are looking forward to Ham and Cheesy potatoes for dinner. Here are some pictures of the festivities so far and a video to come soon. Wishing everyone a blessed day!
