Granny And Grandpa Are Back...

As requested...a real alligator head!
Granny and Grandpa are back from Florida! They came back tan, refreshed and with plenty of stories of all the wild animals they saw while exploring the state. We loved seeing the pictures that Granny and Grandpa sent on all their wildlife encounters. Did you know that there are even wild monkeys in one area of Florida! Three pairs of Rhesus monkeys were transported to a park near Ocala in the 1930s by tour operator Colonel Tooey after a “Tarzan” flick sparked a fascination with the creature. But the breed has since boomed and more than 1,000 of the monkeys now live in the state...crazy! There is also another animal that was spotted at one of  the parks Granny and Grandpa stayed at called the jaguarundi.  I think I would be a little on edge if I came across something that looked like a jaguar lurking around. We definitely learn a lot of interesting facts about Florida when Granny and Grandpa head south for the winter! Aside from monkeys there were plenty of alligator sightings and even manatees.  Hmmm...I wonder where Charlie gets his sense of adventure from...no lounging around for this Granny and Grandpa! We are glad they were able to get away, especially with such a harsh winter this year, but are happy they are back and safe. Now let's hope some of that Florida weather makes it's way up here.

We saw the wild monkeys while kayaking but we missed OUR little monkeys back home! Great to get our arms around you and get those hugs and kisses!

Lots of love,
Granny and Grandpa
