Summer Happenings....

Well swimming has officially come to a close. It was an awesome first summer on the IVY swim team.  The kids ended the season with the Wacky Races which was a fun night of silly relay races and a pizza party.

Swimming is hard enough...try pushing a watermelon too!

Then last night we had a dinner banquet and award ceremony. We enjoyed a nice dinner and listening to the coaches tell a special story about each individual swimmer. They also made a special video recapping all the events over the summer. The kids loved seeing themselves up on the big screen. The night ended with a trip to the ice cream shop with the team. We hope to be back next year!

This week Aniela also had a 3 day theatre camp that Cornstock theatre put on. She attended with her friend Annika. The theme was 16 going on 17, based off of "The Sound of Music". At the closing of the camp the kids performed a few numbers from the musical. It was nice to try something different and a great way for Aniela to experience being out of her comfort zone during an audience performance

Aside from that we have been busy with friends, family and keeping Shady Grove in check. Between our house and the land we do a lot of mowing!

And as always the summer break is coming to a close and we've already begun our school supply shopping. Many parents may be excited to have the school year begin but I am actually dreading it! Since Charles and Zoe are not in full time school yet I get to look forward to a lot of car hauling throughout the day between preschool, speech and various other activities. Although I guess once they all start full time school that's when I'll be heading back to nursing and then I'll probably be wishing for these early years. Isn't it always like that! Ummm..so on second thought I can't wait for school to start!

Ahhh....remember chasing down those greased watermelons. In the pool! Very fun! Summer seems to fly by fast with so many fun activities! Aniela, Chatles and Zoe are growing faster than the corn. WOW!
