Ringing in the New Year...

We took advantage of Charlies time off and packed in a lot of fun after Christmas. On the 26th we went out to Vista Ridge to try Aniela on the slopes for the first time this season. She was very excited on the drive out and couldn't wait to ski. At first it took her some time to get comfortable and confident on the skis. But she didn't give up and kept on trying, even after wiping out a few times! I have no doubt that she will be giving Charlie a run for his money by the end of the season. Her lessons start in a few weeks. It'll be nice to have some family time out at the ski hill. Even Charles loved running around at the bottom of the hill watching the skiers wiz by!

Then for the New Year we packed up the car and headed down to Edmonton! We had so much fun with Dayven, Chelsea and the kids. This trip was especially nice because Charlie didn't have to work so we actually spent time as a family. It was a fun filled week with trips to an indoor play place, the Children's Science Museum, and the West Edmonton Mall. Chelsea and I even got an afternoon to ourselves to shop...a rare treat!

On New Years Eve we enjoyed a meal of various unbelievably yummy appetizers. Then when the kids were all tucked in our friends, Nate and Dorothy, joined us for a night of cocktails and fun board games. We actually stayed up till midnight too...something that hasn't been done in years! It was a great time had by all. We are lucky to have such good friends close by to ring in the New Year. I can't wait to see what 2010 has to bring. Let a new year of adventures begin!

Oh man, hopefully Charles will straighten up and fly right because I just saw a vision of what he'd look like behind bars ... ok, behind ropes.

Cute, cute, cute. Everyone, including Charlie.

Looks like you had fun in Edmonton. Aniela looks like a natural behind the wheel of a car ... and you, well, you make a good lookin' motorcycle momma ... although please don't ever get a motorcycle ... pretty please. And that goes for Charlie too.
