Finally it feels like summer...

This last weekend we finally had some true summer heat. Don't get me wrong we've been having pleasant weather but it's felt more like spring around these parts. On Sunday we took advantage of the 85 degree temps and had some fun in the kiddie pool. Aniela enjoys swimming in the water, especially since it's luke warm from our laundry room faucet!

We also decided to check out a local garden and landscaping company in town. They have been advertising their "u-pick-it" farmers market. When we arrived we were impressed to see all the fields of vegetables. The lady in the store said that it's only strawberry season right now but the vegetables will be ready to pick in mid august. We gave the strawberry pickin' a go and the little red fruit was to die for. Charlie, Aniela and I filled up our bucket with as many ripe, sweet, juicy strawberries as possible. They were so good that we couldn't resist sneaking in a few free taste samples... just to make sure they were ripe of course! Unfortunately with my "pregnancy-brain" I forgot to take my camera but was able to get a picture of our bucket when we got home. It was so fun and a great learning experience for Aniela. We can't wait to go back this fall for some fresh veggies.

Of course when a break is needed from the outdoors Charlie and Aniela have fun making up their own games. Heres a little video clip of the fun:
