January Happenings...

It's been a quiet start to the New Year. Nothing new or exciting to report on other than the sub-zero temperatures and extreme wind. They sure have made it feel like a true winter this year. I don't mind the cold and snow but when you throw 40 mph winds in the mix it makes it hard to get out and play.

The kids didn't care about the cold...they just needed to get out
My personal snow shoveler!

On the days where the temps are too dangerous to go outside we have been entertaining ourselves with a lot of crafts and games. Zofia has a new found love of cutting with the scissors while Charlie is loving teaching the older ones more grown up games. Aniela loves backgammon and she is actually good at it. I swear I can not beat her to save my life! All that practice with daddy is really helping her understand strategy. Since she has mastered backgammon Charlie thought he would teach her gin-rummy. It's so fun watching them play together. I can't get over how grown up she is and how good she is at the games. Charles being younger felt left out so Charlie taought him the game of "War". It's one of our favorites since we can all play it together. He just thinks it's cool being able to use real cards.  So we're making the most of being stuck inside but we sure hope spring comes early this year!

Scissors are awesome
The mess is not so awesome
Backgammon

The one game I actually won..this was towards the beginning when she was still learning.
She is too good for this mama now!

The game of Risk. Hmmm...maybe the kids are a little too young to be taught world domination through war...lol!

Charles looks on during a game of Gin-Rummy. Gotta get one in before bedtime

Can't wait to challenge you guys to a good game of War, Uno, Gin Rummy, etc. Zoe, Granny had lots of scissors from her teaching days! Miss you!!! It is in the 80's in Florida and we're loving it!

Love to all,
Granny and Grandpa
