It was a busy weekend. In between all the Easter festivities we squeezed in an early birthday party for Aniela on Saturday. We didn't want her missing out on a celebration and it was the perfect opportunity to do so with all the family in town for Easter.
The Birthday Girl
Aniela had a fun time with all her cousins and loved the special
Barbie cake that Aunt Danuta brought up from Springfield. My sister saw the cake one time when shopping at Meijer's (a store Peoria does not have), and said she just had to bring it up for Anielas birthday. The cake was very cool with a Barbie doll in the center and the cake actually being the dress part of the doll. It was delicious too. I am still holding on to my baby girl being 4 since her birthday isn't until the 8th. Athough ever since the party she likes to say she is already 5. Regardless I am glad we were able to throw a celebration for her since the baby could come at any time and a birthday party once that happens was not going to be very easy to do.
After the party we went to Granny and Grandpas house to celebrate Easter a little early. The kids practiced looking for Easter Eggs and we had a delicious feast of ham, cheesy potatoes, and carrot cake. After a full day of eating and playing with the cousins we had just enough energy when we got home to put out our Easter baskets and leave the Easter bunny some carrots and jelly beans.
On Easter Sunday the kids got up and we all went downstairs to check and see what the Easter bunny left. It's fun seeing Aniela's reaction and her belief in the Easter bunny. After the kids dumped all the loot from their baskets they ran around the house filling the baskets up again with eggs. There's nothing like jelly beans and chocolate bunnies for breakfast. We didn't have too much time before we had to get dressed in our best for Easter mass.
Following mass we went over to my parents house for a delicious brunch and more Easter egg hunting with all the cousins! Three separate Easter egg hunts later and our house is officially stocked with way too much candy!
And with all that activity the baby is still sitting tight! I went to the Doctor today and nothing has changed since last week. I am still 1 cm dilated...which doesn't mean much in my case.

Happy Early Birthday, Aniela! Looks like quite a celebration!
Yeah! Happy Easter! We had a blast at Aniela's birthday celebration and our Easter dinner. Our grandkids are awesome! Can't wait until next Easter with Zofia! More eggs, siver dollars, glow sticks and hula hoops, eh?
Love,
Granny and Grandpa
