The City and The Great Outdoors...

Nate, Dayven and Charlie ready to head down the road!

We were in Edmonton this last week. Charlie had a camping/four wheeling/dirtbiking excursion with his friends in Idaho. So we decided to tag along with him on the drive down to Edmonton and stay with our dear friends Chelsea and Wyatt. Us girls figured if our husbands are leaving and we're going to be home alone we might as well keep eachother company! And it's really nice to get the kids together. We always feel at home when we go down to Edmonton.
While in town I was able to get some shopping done and picked up some things that aren't available in Fort McMurray, including a much needed trip to Costco!  In between running our errands we also had fun taking
the kiddos swimming. Chelsea and Wyatt go to this amazing indoor water park which was a treat for us Fort McMurrians. Charles did great for his first swim and held out for 2 hours, splashing and kicking in the water. On Friday we went to a gymnastics center. Aniela was in seventh heaven as she bounced around with her buddies Wyatt and Joshua. I was amazed at how many skills Aniela remembered from her gymnastics classes last fall.

The boys returned from their trip on Monday morning. Charlie had a blast in the great outdoors and was thrilled to get his quad out for the first time this year. But now he is convinced he needs a dirtbike. Our friend Dayven got one and Charlie is hooked. It's going to take a lot of convincing for that one. God knows we have enough "toys" in our garage! We can't wait to use our new family tent though. Later this summer we are meeting Charlies parents for a summer camping trip. Aniela can't stop talking about it.

Dayvens new dirtbike...Charlie's new aspiration!

So yesterday after lunch we packed up the truck and headed home. You should have seen the car. Between the four wheeler, cooler, costco purchases, and all our new camping gear we looked like a band of gypsies. I thought for sure we would lose something on the way, but everything made it. We sure will miss our friends and the city but with the baby getting bigger I'm sure the trips down will be frequent.

Glad to he hear you are all back safe and sound ... and that everyone had a good time.

I'm sure Charlie's father would disapprove of a dirt bike. He already has too many ways to kill himself.

Can't wait till we meet up. We head out in a week!

Love and kisses
