Happy Canada Day and 4th of July...

We've been busy celebrating and taking advantage of some days off! Last Tuesday we started off the festivities with the Bare Naked Ladies concert up here in Fort Mac. Charlie and I went with our fellow expats Dave and Val. We enjoy BNL and thought it would be a good way to start off Canada Day which is celebrated on July 1st. We had a blast at the concert and loved being able to get out and do something different.

The next morning we headed down the road and spent the actual holiday in Edmonton with our dear friend Dayven and Chelsea. We hadn't seen them since February and couldn't wait to catch up and see how much their adorable baby girl, Hadley, has grown. We enjoyed laying low, watching the kids play, delicious BBQ dinners, and kicking back with some mojitos.

Couldn't get enough of Hadley

Then with the drive back up to Fort Mac and the excitement of the week our Fourth of July celebration consisted of mowing and laundry! But we did get the smoker out and had some amazing jerk chicken, beans, and cornbread...all we were missing was the fireworks that are pointless up here anyway since it never gets dark!

Happy 4th and 1st of July. But I'm saving some fireworks for a big celebration.

Give the babies a kiss for us.
